The establishment of networks requires coordination and often also an impetus. This is where network promotion comes in. Through the "Network Management East" programme (NEMO, 2002-2008) and the Central Innovation Programme for SMEs (ZIM, since 2009), the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) supports the establishment of innovative networks by promoting competent management and organisational services oriented towards technology and business administration.

ZPVP Zentrum für Produkt-, Verfahrens- und Prozessinnovationen GmbH supports as network management in the conceptual preparation, application and implementation of R&D projects in the network, the coordination of R&D activities and the marketing of R&D results. The management service is divided into the following phases:

  • 1. Phase "conception" (maximum 12 months or 18 months for international networks)
Constitution of the network, establishment of the network in the public and development of the network concept (i.e. a technological roadmap with the R&D projects of the network partners), creation of the contractual basis for the second network phase.
  • 2. Implementation" phase (usually two years, in justified exceptional cases a maximum of three years or three years for international networks)
Implementation of the network concept, further development of the technological roadmap and preparation for the exploitation of results on the market.
  • 3rd phase "Continuation" (continuation of the cooperation without funding)
Continuation of the implementation of the technological roadmap and preparation for the exploitation of results on the market.
