The international network for the development of patient-friendly, image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic methods for the treatment of common diseases (INSTANT) bundles competencies in the field of hardware and software development for medical products for the treatment of common diseases such as heart attack, cancer and stroke.
The intention of the network is to make diagnostic procedures safer and gentler for patients and doctors through an alliance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and application-oriented research institutions. This will increase the success of the therapy and consequently shorten treatment times. Since these diseases are the most relevant and, due to rehabilitation costs, the most expensive diseases in the German economy, an improvement of the procedures also has a considerable financial benefit.
The aim of the network is to develop and test innovative, practical products, procedures and technical services and to establish them as new offerings on the market.
The network management of INSTANT is the responsibility of the Zentrum für Produkt-, Verfahrens- und Prozessinnovation GmbH (ZPVP for short), located in the Experimental Factory Magdeburg.
The Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft honors the research activities of ZPVP with the seal of approval "Innovative through Research".
The network management of "INSTANT" is the responsibility of ZPVP Zentrum für Produkt-, Verfahrens- und Prozessinnovationen GmbH, Experimentelle Fabrik Magdeburg.
The network is supported by the BMWi Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology within the framework of the Central Innovation Programme for SMEs (ZIM) and managed by the project management agency VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH.
